Bath Bomb FAQ
Bath Bombs Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a bath bomb?
Bath bombs are a hard packed mixture of dry ingredients which effervesces (Fizzes!) when wet. They are used to add essential oils, fragrance, bubbles and color to bath water.
- How do I use a bath bomb?
When your tub is about halfway full, drop the bomb in under the running water to activate it. Continue to swish and swirl the bath bomb throughout the tub until completely dissolved. As an alternative you can fill your tub, get in and place the bath bomb behind your back as you lean back in the tub to feel the millions of bubbles caressing your back as you soak until dissolved.
- Can I use the bath bomb more than one time?
Bath bombs are designed as an one-time use product. If you prefer a product that has multiple uses from one package, we suggest you take a look at our bubble bath delight. It is a wonderful combination of bubble bath, bath bombs and soaking salts in a loose mixture which allows you to portion out as much as you desire in each bath, allowing you to have several uses out of one package.
- Do bath bombs expire?
Bath bombs will become less effective over time. The fresher they are, the faster they fizz and the more fragrant they are. There is nothing wrong with using older bath bombs, they still deliver the hydrating essential oils that are great for your skin. Often if you don't mind a little less fizz, you can score some great deals on older bath bombs that go on clearance.
- Do your bath bombs stain my tub?
We use all natural coloring agents that do not stain your tub. We also are very conscious to use colors and quantity to minimize the impact on the tub. (Keep in mind, the brighter/more wild appearance of the bath bomb, the more clean up to do.)
As with all bath bombs, there will be a light ring left in the tub from the essential oils and color released from the bath bomb. This is easily removed with any standard bathroom cleaner that you would normally clean your tub with.
- Do your bath bombs contain rings, or toys in the middle?
At Mountain Laurel Boutique, we do not rely on 'novelty' items placed in the bath bomb to make them stand out from other companies. We provide high-quality, fresh hand made bath and body products that speak for themselves.
- Can I wash my hair if I've got a bath bomb in the water?
While it will not negatively affect your hair, there will be ingredients in the water, such as essential oils and citric acid; which are not bad- in fact they are softening, but it will have a different effect on your hair than plain water or shampoo.
- Can I use a bath bomb if I have sensitive skin or I'm pregnant?
In general bath bombs are mild, and nothing is going to irritate skin in general, but you should avoid trying any new products unless you consult your doctor.
- Do you test your products on animals and are they 'Cruelty Free' ?
NO. Our products are not animal tested and we do not support the killing of animals for byproducts used in making of soap. All of our products are Vegan except for those that contain animal-friendly ingredients including Goat Milk, Honey and Beeswax.
- Are all of your products all natural?
IT DEPENDS. We strive to create all natural products whenever possible, but due to the complex fragrances, and sometimes the difficulty of obtaining responsible GMO free ingredients, we also provide a 'nearly natural' alternative. Each of our products are clearly noted as all natural or nearly natural.
- What is the difference between All Natural and Nearly Natural?
The difference between "All Natural" and "Nearly Natural" is where the scent and color come from. Our All Natural products are made with essential oils, and other natural raw materials ("certified natural fragrances" , herbs, resins, and similar) and while the popular fragrance and "nearly natural" category may contain synthetic/man-made components (sources may simply not "certify" the components are derived from all natural sources.
Natural scents are limited due to the limitations of finding raw materials, the expense of the natural oils, or their inability to "stick" in the product. Popular fragrances are man made without these limitations, so you can create soaps like "Cucumelon" , "Mango" , "Brown Sugar Fig" , and similar. Though many of our natural products are still aroma rich, some may prefer the aforementioned scents and thus we have them available. With either of these categories, we have a natural vegetable oil base and always make the attempt to be as natural as possible by using herbs and clays as colorants. We also have other categories that further enhance the soaps including aloe, goat milk, and more.
